LEXR:“In 2025, 32% of venture capital—that is, of all investments—was invested in AI. That amounts to 1.1 billion. What’s interesting is that in 2023, it was only 5%.”
🗞 News
Conducted by the Institute of Tourism at HES-SO Valais-Wallis as part of the Resilient Tourism project, supported by Innosuisse, this international survey of more than 260 destination management organizations (DMOs) in Austria, Canada, France, and Switzerland provided a detailed overview of the digital transformation of the tourism sector. Presented in four reports, the study successively analyzes DMOs’ practices and challenges in the areas of social media and online distribution, digital transformation, data use, and artificial intelligence. Based on these findings, the Institute of Tourism now intends to shift its focus from assessment to action.
With this in mind, Prof. Dr. Marc K. Peter, Roland Schegg, and Michael Fux developed the Digital Transformation Canvas for DMOs, a practical tool that translates the survey results into a structured framework to support strategic planning in tourism organizations.
