Cyber Threat & Technology Intelligence
The best Cyber Startup Challenge 2020 solution will be revealed at the conference! Apply before September 30.
Hackers have a long history of sharing experiences, tools and identified vulnerabilities, all of which have contributed to the success of major cyberattacks. This conference aims to explore ways in which cooperation, information sharing and collective intelligence can be just as effective on the defenders' side.
A discipline based on intelligence techniques and methods, Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) aims to collect and filter all relevant information from cyberspace, in order to draw up a portrait of hackers, threats or technological trends (business sectors affected, methods used, etc.). The tools used by Security Operations Centers (SOCs) produce hundreds of millions of events a day, from terminal and network alerts to recorded events, making it difficult to filter down to a manageable number of suspicious events for sorting.
Overall, this profiling enables early detection of cyber attacks and better anticipation of cyber risks. However, a proper approach to threat intelligence needs to be complemented by technology intelligence, an activity that enables organizations to monitor and anticipate technological opportunities and threats that could affect the future growth and survival of their business. As outlined in Switzerland's National Strategy for Protection against Cyber Risks (SNPC 2018-2022), early identification of technological trends is an important aspect for the development of Swiss cyber defense. In this respect, armasuisse's CYD-Campus cordially invites all stakeholders to bring together academia, industry and government organizations working in the field of cyber defense.
