The Future of Health Grant Conference 2026
On September 7, 2026, the ISREC Foundation in Lausanne will host the 2026 edition of the Future of Health Grant conference, an event dedicated to new approaches to prevention and integrative health. Organized as part of the Future of Health Grant program, the event will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, startups, insurers, entrepreneurs, and innovation leaders to explore a new way of understanding chronic diseases: no longer as isolated conditions, but as manifestations of a single biological system. Through advances in research and technological innovations, this conference aims to outline a healthcare model that is more preventive, more personalized, and more sustainable.
A Systems Approach to Health Supported by Digital Technologies
While healthcare systems remain largely organized by medical specialties, the most recent research highlights the close links between chronic inflammation, metabolic disorders, the microbiome, and the onset of many diseases. The conference will therefore explore the changes needed to shift from symptom-centered medicine to a holistic approach to patient care, in which prevention, health data, artificial intelligence, and new technologies play an increasingly central role. Presentations by Prof. Chantal Berna Renella (CHUV) and Prof. Mirko Trajkovski (University of Geneva) will shed light on the scientific foundations of this systemic approach and the biological mechanisms linking many chronic conditions.
This overview will be followed by a segment dedicated to entrepreneurial innovation, highlighting four startups developing new solutions in digital health and personalized medicine: HealthyMentis, Genknowme, Bonescreen, and Monix. With support from experts at CSS, CSEM, Innosuisse, and the Établissements hospitaliers du Centre (EHC), these presentations will illustrate how innovations stemming from research are translated into practical applications for patients and healthcare professionals.
