A new program unveils the innovation of Geneva companies
Geneva's industry, a key sector in the canton's dynamic economy, is featured in a new magazine on Léman Bleu.
Entitled "Le Monde de Demain" (The World of Tomorrow), the series of programs will take the public to the heart of industrial and technological companies, to discover the know-how, diversity of professions and talents of companies at the cutting edge of the sector and leaders in their field.
The first program, on air on Monday February 4 and available for replay here, will be dedicated to "Intelligent parking, the future of city parking". On the program: IEM, the queen of parking meters and an example of Geneva's digital transition; OrbiWise, a pioneer of the Internet of Things in India and China and winner of the 2018 Innovation Award; andABB, which will present an exclusive presentation of its electric charging station project for Plan-les-Ouates. Hot topics such as the internet of things, robotization, drones, blockchain and cybersecurity will be covered in the series of programs hosted by Delphine Seitiee, Ecosystem Development Manager at Alp ICT.
"The idea is to reveal a hard-hitting, topical subject in each program, touching the lives of the general public. Innovations and projects often unknown to the public will be unveiled in a way that is educational and accessible to everyone," explains Laurent Keller, director of Léman Bleu.
"Technology 'made in Geneva' will be showcased through reports from these Geneva nuggets - companies large and small with a strong international presence", enthuses Frédéric Dreyer, Director of the Office de Promotion des Industries et des Technologies, co-producer of the project.
The show will be broadcast every Monday of the month at 8.44pm, 9.44pm, 11.44pm, then every hour until the following day, Tuesday, at 5.44pm.
Running alongside the show is the "Industrie-Genève" communications campaign, launched in August 2017. Bringing together all the players in the sector, this campaign aims to introduce young people and the general public to a dynamic industry that is shaping the world of tomorrow. Its aim is also to promote training courses, centers of excellence and the many future opportunities offered by industry.
At the heart of the campaign, the industrie-geneve.ch website serves as an information platform about industry and as a showcase for innovation in Geneva. A series of exclusive in-company events is also planned, to bridge the gap between the digital world and the reality on the ground.
The "Industrie-Genève" campaign is the result of fruitful cooperation between all players in the sector: the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG), the Union Industrielle Genevoise (UIG), the Office de promotion des Industries et des Technologies (OPI), the Fondation pour les Terrains Industriels (FTI), the Direction générale du développement économique, de la recherche et de l'innovation (DG DERI - State of Geneva), HEPIA, SIG and UNIGE.
