#interview GPS, artificial intelligence and Machine Learning at the heart of your business
Business Investigation is one of 25 Swiss companies taking part in the InsurTech Mission to London. Its COO, Marc Lecoultre, presents GPS (Global Performance System), an artificial intelligence solution using Machine Learning for performance and risk management. Thanks to its innovative methodology, GPS makes it possible to refine understanding of organizational dynamics, increase decision-makers' ability to act, and thus catalyze overall performance.
Alp ICT: Your company Business Investigation is the publisher of GPS software. In concrete terms, what is its added value?
Marc Lecoultre: GPS identifies and maps the complex links between the company's various processes, to optimize the operation of each process. It is a global solution to the challenges of performance, governance and entrepreneurial transformation (adapting to a changing market, detecting risks, managing resources efficiently, selecting relevant information while ensuring that opportunities are seized). When an abnormality is discovered, whether positive or negative (opportunity or threat), an action plan can be put in place, monitored by the GPS system according to the quantified objectives set. Our software enables these processes to have the most positive impact possible on the organization as a whole, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Alp ICT: What type of companies do you work with?
Marc Lecoultre: GPS provides specialist answers and support for all trades and industries, thanks to its specific, pre-established models. In particular, we work for insurance companies in Switzerland. GPS enables us to improve the management experience of the people in charge of these companies, and to guide them towards the permanent success of their achievements. In operational terms, we apply our technology to various business processes in the insurance sector, including the analysis of the dematerialization chain to optimize the processing of incoming mail and benefits. This enables the company, for example, to forecast peaks in the customer portfolio, and to help actuaries develop premium rates in line with changes in the various benefits.
Alp ICT: Why did you choose to take part in Mission InsurTech?
Marc Lecoultre: Our company, Business Investigation, has a very good track record in the insurance sector. So we want to be identified as an InsurTech player with our GPS solution. I think it's essential to get into InsurTech early on, because I think it's going to follow in the footsteps of FinTech. The event came at just the right time, as it was offered to us just as we were deciding to promote Swiss InsurTech abroad.
