AI for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses: A Guide

June 25, 2026 - June 25, 2026
Biopôle – Lausanne

On June 25, 2026, Innovaud and AI Swiss are hosting an evening event in Lausanne for SME leaders who want to understand how to practically integrate artificial intelligence into their businesses. Held at the Swiss Data Science Center on the Biopôle Lausanne campus, the event offers a decidedly pragmatic approach to AI, free from hype and abstract promises.

The goal: to help companies better understand how to leverage AI tools based on their specific business, data, and processes.

Moving from fascination with AI to practical applications in business.

In a world where artificial intelligence is everywhere but often difficult for small and medium-sized businesses to grasp, this event aims to refocus attention on real-world applications and operational challenges. The organizers’ message is clear: the value of AI depends not only on the tools chosen, but above all on companies’ ability to transfer their business expertise to the systems they use.

The program will focus on case studies and practical examples, including:

  • A keynote address by Charles-Edouard Bardyn, co-founder of AI Swiss and an expert in AI applied to healthcare, focusing on collaboration with AI and the “BASE” project. Developed in partnership with Innovaud, this open-source framework for human-AI collaboration will be presented at the Geneva AI Summit 2027 as one of Switzerland’s concrete contributions to the sovereign and portable use of AI.
  • Insights from Christophe SAAM on the practical application of AI at P&TS
  • a presentation of the internal practices implemented by Innovaud, focusing on the methods, lessons learned, and organizational adjustments related to the adoption of AI

Through these discussions, the event will address issues that have become central to SMEs: how to organize their data, which uses to prioritize, how to integrate AI without disrupting their entire organization, and what skills to develop to take full advantage of these new tools.
