In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into decision-making processes, trust and understanding of one's decisions is becoming a crucial element. The HumanTech Institute of the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture (HEIA-FR) has taken up this challenge by proposing a conversational agent designed to counter the "black box" effect of AI.
Transparency & ethics at the heart of HEIA-FR's XAI project
The fundamental need for human beings to accept and trust technology lies in their ability to understand and validate the results or decisions generated by AI. To meet this need, HumanTech has developed an innovative conversational agent, capable of translating the complex decisions made by AI into terms understandable to an industrial machine operator.
This initiative extends beyond the industrial sector. In partnership with the CISEL company, the HumanTech Institute will also explore the implications of explainable AI in the field of human resources, and particularly in recruitment processes. The collaboration aims to delve deeper into the notions of transparency, ethics and explicability, ensuring that automated decisions in HR are not only fair but also clearly justifiable for candidates and recruiters.
