Digital Atlas of Geneva: the most comprehensive catalog of digital policy players in Geneva

TheGeneva Digital Atlas is a comprehensive mapping of digital policy and internet governance in international Geneva. The atlas offers in-depth coverage of the activities of nearly 40 players, including analysis of political processes and cataloguing of key instruments and events.

The Atlas builds on 20 years of research, training and policy work by DiploFoundation and the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP), including:

• 2000: Establishment of the first comprehensive taxonomy of Internet governance and digital policy
• 2003: Publication of "An Introduction to Internet Governance", the first reference work on Internet governance policy, now in its seventh edition and available online in 10 languages.
• 2012:Geneva Internet Initiative (GII) study; the study describes the basic mapping of Internet governance actors and processes in Geneva, makes recommendations, and establishes the methodology for covering Internet governance in international Geneva.
• 2014 : The Geneva Internet Conference, which addressed critical issues, gaps and future developments in Internet governance and digital policy; the Conference launched the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP).
• June 2020: Navigating Geneva's Digital Landscape " conference revisited Geneva's digital governance scene.
• November 2020: Launch of the Geneva Digital Atlas

The Geneva Digital Atlas offers guided tours on digital governance, combining virtual and physical experiences in standardization, data, cybersecurity and other pressing issues of our time.

In 2021, you'll navigate Geneva's digital landscape by following specific digital themes. Each month, themed discussions (called "tours") will connect the dots between a wide range of players: past and present, established and new, diplomatic and technical.
