Strategic funding for deep tech innovations in Geneva

The FIF Tech program aims to support the development of innovative technological products, processes, or services, often stemming from scientific research or technology transfers. It is designed for projects in the early stages of development as well as for startups and growing SMEs, offering several funding tiers tailored to the project’s maturity.

The program's funding opportunities are organized into three main categories:

  • the FIF Grant (up to CHF 50,000) for research projects aimed at launching a business within 12 months
  • the FIF Seed Tech (up to CHF 100,000), in the form of a convertible loan, for early-stage startups that have already demonstrated technological feasibility and market potential
  • the FIF Growth (up to CHF 400,000) for tech scale-ups and SMEs seeking to accelerate their business growth or digital transformation.

Projects must meet rigorous criteria, including: distinctive scientific or technological innovation, proven market potential, and compliance with ESG criteria (environmental, social, and governance).

For SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland, the FIF Tech represents a particularly strategic opportunity. It helps secure funding for DeepTech projects—which are often difficult to finance in their early stages—while providing access to support and a recognized innovation ecosystem. This initiative also fosters links between academic research and industry, accelerating the transformation of scientific findings into marketable products. In a context where digitalization, AI, industrial technologies, and life sciences play a key role in competitiveness, FIF Tech offers companies in French-speaking Switzerland a concrete lever to move from innovation to market launch, while strengthening their position in high-growth technology value chains.
