Technology and disability: call for projects until April 30
Description of the call for projects
As part of the NTN Innovation Booster Technology & Special Needs, the FRH awards vouchers for innovation projects in the field of disability. These cheques amount to :
- CHF 5,000 for feasibility studies
- CHF 10,000 for exploratory research
- CHF 10,000 for prototypes
Whatever your profile or field of activity, don't hesitate to submit your ideas! Teams must be interdisciplinary, and at least one person concerned by the disability targeted by the project must be a member of the team.
The FRH follows the Federal Office for Equality for People with Disabilities (BFEH) priority line for 2022. The main themes of this third call for projects therefore concern :
- equality at work
- autonomy
- digital accessibility
The Innovation Booster Technology & Special Needs jury will award cheques to the most relevant projects.

Training day
All teams wishing to submit a project are strongly advised to attend the training day on April 2, 2022.
Team composition
For the composition of teams, the following elements are taken into consideration when evaluating proposals:
- Minimum 4 persons
- The participation of at least one person with a disability or illness related to the theme is mandatory.
- The team must be multidisciplinary (technical, social, health, economic, etc.) and diverse (gender, age, training).
Remarks :
- If necessary, a relative or other person can accompany a person with a disability. This person will then be an integral part of the team.
- If your idea indirectly concerns people with a disability, i.e. if the end user is a carer rather than a person with a disability, for example, you may wish to deviate from this rule. You must give reasons for your decision.
- Students from colleges, universities and federal institutes of technology may not represent an academic partner.
Regulations
1) The project manager (person or institution) must be domiciled in Switzerland.
2) Any right of appeal is excluded.
Feasibility study
The feasibility study enables the team to draw up an initial assessment of the situation in relation to the desired theme. It identifies the context, the potential partners and the social, economic and technical issues related to the topic in question. Following the feasibility study, the team can choose to go into greater depth by submitting an exploratory research proposal. They can also submit a prototype idea directly.
Please complete the submission form below and send it by April 30, 2022 to info@frh-fondation.ch.
