Switzerland Innovation Tech4Impact: 2nd call for proposals until July 15

Objectives 

As one of the world's leading innovation countries, Switzerland has the opportunity to put its unique technological expertise and innovation skills at the disposal of society by supporting entrepreneurial solutions that have the potential to have a sustainable impact in the global sense, i.e. in economic, environmental and societal terms.

The aim of the " Switzerland Innovation Tech4Impact " (SI Tech4Impact) initiative is to facilitate the realization of innovation projects that tackle society's most pressing environmental and societal challenges, focusing on selected themes of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

To realize this ambition, SI Tech4Impact encourages the development of innovative projects focused on real commercial applications by supporting research groups at Swiss universities , as well as start-ups and SMEs working with research partners.

Program 

The SI Tech4Impact initiative will award 5 to 7 selected projects a one-year grant of up to CHF 85,000 each. The program focuses specifically on projects that aim to tackle one of the following SDGs:

• MDG 3 - Good health and well-being
• SDG 7 - Clean and affordable energy
• ODD 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure
• SDG 11 - Sustainable cities and communities
• SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
• SDG 13 - Climate action

This initiative is led by Switzerland Innovation in conjunction with EPFL Tech4Impact and collaboratio helvetica. Switzerland Innovation is a network of six innovation parks throughout Switzerland. It is a joint initiative of public institutions, universities and the private sector, with a statutory mandate from the Swiss government. Together with its partners, Switzerland Innovation forms an ecosystem that accelerates the transformation of research results into marketable products and services.
