New support fund for the sustainable economy: sustainability support mandates

by Alp ICT

Would you like to take action on sustainability in your company, but don't know where to start? The Service de la promotion de l'économie et de l'innovation de l'État de Vaud is now offering assistance with the financing of sustainability coaching mandates, as part of the new support fund for the sustainable economy.

Any company wishing to call on the services of a sustainability specialist to support its sustainable transition process can apply for financial assistance covering 50% of the cost of the mandate, up to a maximum of CHF 15,000. This includes a sustainability audit, the definition of a strategy and the development of an action plan.

Find out more about this new support measure below.

Principle

Carrying out a sustainability audit, defining a sustainability strategy or identifying concrete actions are just some of the measures that enable a company to initiate or accelerate its sustainable transition.

External expertise is often required to support a company wishing to take action in the field of sustainability. The SPEI can grant financial assistance to companies that engage support mandates to help them define their sustainability strategy and action plan.

The choice of agent is up to the company, provided that the content of the mandate complies with the fund's intervention criteria. A non-exhaustive and evolving list of service providers is available on request from SPEI.

Beneficiaries

To be eligible for financial assistance for a sustainability coaching mandate issued by the SPEI, companies must meet all of the following criteria:

  • be established and carry out their activities in the canton of Vaud
  • have legal personality (SA, Sàrl, other)
  • at least 10 employees or annual sales of at least CHF 5 million*.

* For smaller players in the same sector, it is possible to group together to collectively reach these thresholds and thus benefit from financial assistance.

The SPEI reserves the right to refuse any request for financial assistance, giving reasons for its decision.

Supported projects

Realization of a mandate fulfilling all of the following goals:

  • Carry out a sustainability and risk/opportunity audit (maximum 1/3 of the mandate)
  • Hold workshops to develop a corporate sustainability strategy and vision
  • Define objectives, actions and monitoring indicators
  • Follow-up over at least 18 months

It is requested that management and the Board of Directors be involved in implementing the strategy.
