par Marco Mari

At SIGGRAPH 2019 with Virtual Switzerland, Alp ICT interviewed the Swiss innovators present at this international conference specializing in computer and interactive technologies. 2-minute videos with 3 questions to the CEOs: "What is your why? How do you improve people's lives? Why did you pick SIGGRAPH?

Victoria Rege, Chair of the Immersive Pavilion at SIGGRAPH, the conference that enables people to share and learn from each other, as well as develop new techniques and content. According to her, there has been a great deal of research into immersive technologies for people with disabilities and the need for adaptive technology.

Magic Leap's Dan Lehrich hopes that immersive technologies will generate real interactions and bring us closer together.

Raffael Dickreuter, CEO of Superba AR, a company that creates cutting-edge Augmented Reality experiences for the world's biggest brands. Raffael has worked on AR, VR and Digital projects for major Hollywood films such as the Avengers, Fast & Furious and Pirates of the Caribbean franchises. He believes that the use of 3D space in AR will revolutionize the way we perceive and search for information.

Emilie Joly, co-founder and CEO of apelab, a Geneva- and Los Angeles-based studio/laboratory specializing in immersive technologies. She believes that augmented reality and virtual reality represent the future of learning. She believes that acquiring immersive storytelling skills will help children integrate concepts in a much more meaningful way.

Robin Mange, co-founder and CTO at IMVERSE, a voxel graphics company based in Geneva and Los Angeles that creates XR and location-based entertainment. Robin believes that the social aspect of virtual and augmented reality is missing at the moment. Collaboration with peers is an essential element of immersive experiences and needs to be further encouraged.

Sophie Lamparter, CEO and co-founder of DART Labs Ventures, an incubator linking European and American expertise to test and scale intelligent human-machine interfaces. She tells us about the advantages of coming to SIGGRAPH, as it's the only place to network in the computer graphics field.

Kent Bye, producer of Voices of VR, a podcast featuring pioneering artists, storytellers and technologists behind the resurgence of VR & AR. While books are capable of capturing information and knowledge, Kent believes that computing technologies are capable of capturing the complexity of human experience. After personal and mobile computing, space computing is the next major step in this evolution.
