Innovation Booster Technology & Special Needs: call for projects until May 31

by Alp ICT

People with disabilities need to develop their autonomy, in order to integrate and actively participate in the various spheres of society - public, professional and private. Technological innovations developed with and for people with disabilities will enable Switzerland to be more inclusive and to participate in the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

In collaboration with the HES-SO Valais-Wallis and the HE-Arc, the FRH has obtained Innosuisse funding of around 2 million Swiss francs for the years 2021 to 2024. The aim of this funding is to support and promote ideas and projects related to disability and technology: https: //frh-fondation.ch/innovation-booster/

Two calls for projects are open until May 31, 2021:

  1. Feasibility studies, 25 cheques for CHF 5,000 https://frh-fondation.ch/etudes-de-faisabilite/
  2. Search, 6 cheques of CHF 10'000.- https://frh-fondation.ch/recherches/

Whatever your profile or field of activity, don't hesitate to submit your ideas!

The online ideation platform lets you consult ideas already proposed, suggest new ones, or share everyday problems for which you don't have a solution.

How Innovation Booster Technology & Special Needs works

Each year, the Innovation Booster Technology & Special Needs allocates 245,000 frs as a seed fund to help new projects get off the ground:

  • Needs are defined
  • The themes for the current year have been selected as follows
  • Calls for research, feasibility studies and prototypes are organized to devise concrete solutions to the problems identified.
  • 25 cheques of 5,000 francs for feasibility studies are awarded by the Innovation Booster jury.
  • 6 cheques of 10,000 frs for research are awarded by the Innovation Booster jury.
  • 6 cheques of 10,000 frs for prototypes are awarded by the Innovation Booster jury

Various other forms of funding can then be used to implement projects (Innosuisse innovation cheque, Innosuisse project, etc.). Living Lab Handicap can support teams at this stage.
