Big data in biology: promises & challenges
The SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics is organizing one of Europe's most important conferences in the field of data-driven life sciences: the [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference. It will take place in Basel from September 11 to 13, 2023. This year's theme is "Big data in biology - promises and challenges".
The conference will bring together some 500 participants, including representatives from pharmaceutical/biotech companies and academia. This year, a special session will be devoted to industry-university collaborations. Industry-university collaborations are an important driver of innovation, scientific excellence and technology transfer. However, major challenges arise when industry and academia collaborate, due to resource constraints, legal and administrative complexity, and coordination difficulties.

The program includes conferences, masterclasses and workshops on topics such as artificial intelligence and deep learning.
