BlueArk Challenge: a hackathon to promote the digitalization of energy
24 hours to develop digital solutions
BlueArk Challenge is the new energy hackathon organized by the BlueArk Entremont innovation cluster, ALTIS Groupe, Services industriels de Monthey and The Ark Foundation. The principle is simple: participants, including developers and designers, will have around 24 hours to develop digital solutions to energy challenges proposed by professionals in the field.
This event will take place from November 9 to 10, at the Espace Saint-Marc in Le Châble. Over CHF 25,000 in prizes are up for grabs. Registration (free of charge) is open at www.blueark-challenge.ch
Advancing tomorrow's energy is also a question of off-the-beaten-track initiatives. That's why we came up with the idea of an energy hackathon. Very much in vogue in recent years, hackathons are events where groups of volunteer developers get together to do computer programming and solve challenges related to a particular theme. On the menu for this first BlueArk Challenge: shared experience and knowledge, great encounters, innovative solutions and, above all, lots of fun!
In the presence of Elmar Mock
The Challenge will begin with a presentation of the challenges proposed by energy professionals, which can already be viewed on the BlueArk Challenge website. This will be followed by an inspiring talk by Elmar Mock, co-inventor of the Swatch, on the need for innovation in a traditional field like energy.
After the conference, teams will be formed, and participants will then have around 24 hours to develop prototypes of IT solutions that meet the proposed challenges. Experts from various fields (lean management, technical, innovation...) will be on hand to advise the teams, enabling them to better target the expectations and needs of the field.
Attractive prices!
On Saturday evening, November 10, at the end of the coding time, the teams will present their solutions and the developments achieved during these 24 hours of work. They will also talk about the economic development potential of their project. A jury of experts will deliberate and reward the three winners, who will pocket prizes worth CHF 25,000, including cash, a support program to develop their project and ski passes.
Participation in the BlueArk Challenge is free of charge, and drinks, meals and accommodation are provided by the organizers. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn about and contribute to tomorrow's energy solutions, in a friendly, relaxed setting conducive to sharing and learning!
