SynchroniCity open call until September 30
Purpose of the open call
The aim is to create a global market for IoT-based, human-centric urban services that are interoperable, reproducible and reusable across cities and domains.
Who's it for?
- Companies that can provide an IoT-enabled application or a complete solution. The application/solution must have already been demonstrated in a relevant environment. SMEs can apply alone or in a pilot group. Large companies can only apply in a pilot group in partnership with at least one SME leader. - Cities that will help create and maintain a global, agile market for IoT-based urban services. Cities can only apply for a pilot group in partnership with at least one SME leader. To find out more, download the documentation for new applicant cities.
Range
The SynchroniCity open call will cover three specific themes: sustainable mobility, citizen engagement and environment & well-being, as well as an open theme.
Financing
Each application can be financed with:
- up to €100,000 for SMEs applying alone
- up to €200,000 for pilot groups of 2 organizations;
- up to €300,000 for pilot groups of 3 or more organizations.

SynchroniCity is opening up a global IoT marketplace where cities and businesses develop shared digital services to improve citizens' lives and develop local economies. SynchroniCity's large-scale IoT pilot project for smart cities is based on the belief that creating a simplified, open and agile digital marketplace across borders will help cities and their citizens get better services. It will also help companies of all sizes to compete seamlessly and easily adapt their products and solutions. All these elements will help identify and develop agile standards that will establish an efficient marketplace for all.
