Startups in the construction and real estate sector: take part in BIM WORLD MUNICH 2019

par Marco Mari

BIM World MUNICH 2019 is the pioneering event for the modern construction, real estate and urban planning sectors.

As the leading event for innovative BIM solutions, construction IT and new IoT technologies for sensor-based construction, BIM World MUNICH has become the largest meeting point in German-speaking countries for the digitization of the construction, real estate and urban planning sector.

With its extensive exhibition space, over 200 exhibitors, open sessions, 200-day international conference and 200 speakers, and the BIM Town Innovation Area for start-ups with Open Innovation Stage, BIM World MUNICH 2019 once again shows continued growth and brings together technology giants, digital enthusiasts, innovators and leading industry experts.

As a partner of the event, Alp ICT is providing free exhibition tickets and discounted conference tickets to Swiss startups in the construction and real estate sector with the promo code: BIM-ALPICT.

BIM World MUNICH takes place on November 26 and 27, 2019 at ICM Munich

Highlights of this year's exhibition and conference program include BIM and sustainable construction, the digital twins of our buildings and cities, BIM and GIS, BIM and digital construction site, BIM visualization (VR/AR, 3D, etc.), cloud-based construction solutions, best practices in digital planning tools and smart construction technologies.

In 2019, BIM World MUNICH introduces open breakout sessions on both days as part of the exhibition area. Exhibitors not only showcase their intelligent solutions, but also present them on the open stage, offering an overview of their product portfolio. The following topics are included:

  • Coordinated BIM design for infrastructure
  • Computer-aided coordination and collaboration in BIM projects
  • Automated data management
  • Collaboration in planning and construction
  • BIM in fastening technology
  • Linking data sources and 3D models
  • Digital design space
  • Connected BIM for traffic route planning

The real estate sector also needs to make its entry today in order to make clear its position in the digital building value chain right from the planning phase. Digital facility management must therefore be given greater prominence, and is part of BIM World MUNICH 2019 with its own domain - the Digital Facility Management Hub.

BIM World MUNICH brings the world's best speakers to the stage

The two-day international conference provides further insight into the digitization of the industry with inspiring talks fromAutodesk, Nemetschek, Trimble, Oracle, BIMobject, Bentley and BIMsystems.

On the first day, the focus is on digital real estate management. In the BIM2FM session of CAFM RING e.V. BIM World visitors get an overview of IoT sensor solutions and explore the latest technologies for energy efficiency and sustainability in the later operational and BIM phases.

The interactions between BIM and GIS and the digital twins of our buildings and cities are highlighted by the Leonhard Obermeyer Center's panel discussion and GIS e.V. DB Netz AG will also be speaking at BIM World MUNICH 2019 and presenting the second main line in Munich as a best-practice example of BIM and GIS integration.

The event format combines innovation and tradition. At the "BIM for construction contractors" session organized by the Hauptverband der deutschen Bauindustrie, contractors can discover the potential of BIM as a working method.

At EU and local authority level, the digitization of the construction and real estate sectors is also becoming extremely important. For the first time, a representative of the European Commission is giving a talk at BIM World MUNICH 2019 and highlighting digital trends in the EU construction industry. Robotic Eyes presents digital solutions and applications for cities and municipalities and explains how to increase the participation of modern citizens in construction projects through augmented reality. Cloudeo presents GeoServices for municipalities.

Roland Berger explains the "BIMization" of business models in the construction industry, while Microsoft gives an overview of the digital trends that are significantly changing our industry.

The DGNB unveils current and future potential for greater sustainability thanks to BIM and digital processes, from planning to construction and operation. In addition, leading industry experts will discuss ecological and economical designs for our living spaces in panel discussions. See the full conference program.

BIM World's innovation hotspot: BIM TOWN

Following the great success of BIM Town and the BIM/Smart Construction Award 2018, the BIM World MUNICH innovation sector is back again this year. BIM Town is a marketplace for all innovators, disruptors, start-ups and R&D teams, where they can present their digital products and services for the design, production, construction and management of real estate and our smart cities, as well as showcase their innovations on the BIM Town Innovation Stage. In 2019, the Innovation World Cup in Smart Building / Smart Construction is once again part of BIM World MUNICH.

BIM World MUNICH's executive partners are Autodesk, Nemetschek, Trimble, BIMobject, BIMsystems, buildingSMART Germany and Finland, Bentley and Hauptverband der deutschen Bauindustrie. The Mittelstand 4.0 competence center for planning and construction is BIM Town's strategic partner. Oracle is the Common Data Environment partner.
