Neode Prize 2017: CHF 50,000 for the best innovation in medical technology

On December 7 in Neuchâtel, the Neode incubator will award a cash prize of CHF 50,000 to the most innovative project in the field of medical technology. The incubator thus encourages the emergence and development of projects in a sector with strong growth potential and synergies with the regional industrial fabric.

 

An internationally renowned jury

Chaired by Professor Afksendiyos Kalangos, a leading specialist in cardiac surgery, a Jury made up of doctors, industrialists and intellectual property experts will review the applications received by October 6, 2017. Find out more about the Jury members here.

 

A VIP event on December 7, 2017

The three nominees will present at the ceremony on December 7, 2017 in Neuchâtel to an audience of representatives from business, industry, academia and politics. Several renowned speakers - including keynote Mr. Jean-Roger Cattin, Director of Spine Operations, Medos International Sàrl (Johnson & Johnson Campus Neuchâtel) - will speak on this occasion.

The winner of the 2017 Prize will be announced at the end of the event, and will receive a cheque for CHF 50,000 to set up a business at the Neode incubator.

 

Coat-X: discover the success of the latest winner!

Winner of the 2015 Neode Prize, Andreas Hogg has since created and set up his start-up - Coat-X SA - within the incubator. The young company is developing an innovative encapsulation solution for medical devices based on a unique ultra-thin, hermetic and biocompatible multilayer technology. The prize should enable Coat-X to become "the leading supplier of ultra-thin, waterproof layer solutions for high-value-added parts". The company currently employs a staff of 6, and is looking to expand in the coming months.

On December 7, Andreas Hogg will retrace the steps taken thanks to the Neode Prize. In his own words: " Thanks to the world-class jury and the media coverage that followed the award ceremony, Coat-X's reputation has grown enormously. This enabled us to start industrializing our unique technology, which attracted the first investors.
