La Cité du Partage: give your opinion on the interest of a project for the energy transition
Feasibility study for La Cité du Partage, a digital platform to better understand household electricity consumption in Switzerland
A product of the Red lab 2021 program, the Cité du Partage is a community of testers giving academics access to top-quality data to promote research into energy consumption.
It is based on the principle of voluntarism, with citizens offering to make their consumption data available for research. On the one hand, this consists of consumption data taken directly from the smartmeter, and on the other hand, information taken from a questionnaire enabling the consumer's profile to be identified.
In exchange, the citizen receives a range of information enabling them to compare themselves with other consumers with a similar profile, with information on their potential to reduce energy consumption, and the opportunity to take part in various research projects (and thus access the results).
The data collected is processed, anonymized and consolidated to guarantee consumer protection, and then made available to regional academic circles. In this way, it feeds the innovation ecosystem, encouraging the search for sustainable solutions and enabling radical innovations in line with the goal of decarbonizing the region.
La Cité du Partage guarantees access to quality data for academic institutions, by appealing to the consumer's goodwill to put him or her back at the heart of this transition.
Take part in the survey to assess the value of such a platform
In order to gauge citizens' interest in sharing their data for such a project, the questionnaire below enables us to identify more precisely the type of needs they may have, such as what services they would like to have access to in return for making their data available.
The Cité du Partage offers everyone the opportunity to become an active part of the energy transition:
- Helping researchers by giving them access to quality data
- Get feedback on your consumption reduction potential
- Compare your own consumption with that of other households with a similar profile to yours.
- Be invited to participate in certain research projects and have access to the results
