#interview "Blockchain is the liberation of the third party"

by Alp ICT

Gian Bochsler, co-founder of start-up Bity.com and manager of hedge-fund EtherCapital.com, will be speaking at the TechnoArk conference (January 27, 2017 in Sierre). This twelfth edition will address the topic of Blockchain. Gian Bochsler will talk about the upheavals that await our society with the advent of this new technology. A few days before the conference, we interviewed him.

Alp ICT: It would seem that we are perhaps not yet measuring the future influence of the Blockchain on our everyday uses...

Gian Bochsler: Blockchain's role is to eliminate the third party. The current organization of society requires, for example, a commercial register, the presence of a bank or a notary for any transaction. This third party serves as a witness, a guarantee of trust. Blockchain eliminates this dynamism and reduces the transaction to two entities, making it possible to validate an exchange. The result is fundamental changes in the way our society is organized.

Alp ICT: Can you briefly present a case study?

Gian Bochsler: Bitcoin is a very concrete case in point, saving the user from having to pay a large commission to a third party and simplifying the transaction. As money is the basis of our society, bitcoin brings greater freedom and flexibility, and thus more democracy and independence.

Alp ICT: What are your expectations for the TechnoArk conference on January 27?

Gian Bochsler: Above all, it's a time for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas with an interested public.

Gian Bochsler will present "How blockchain technology will revolutionize the way society works" on January 27 at the TechnoArk conference. Registration and further information
