This online meeting, organized by ISIT-CH (Swiss Institute for Sustainable IT) on February 10, 2026, offers factual and operational insights into the environmental impact of digital technology in Switzerland at a time when artificial intelligence is significantly increasing the use of IT infrastructure, data, and the cloud.
Digital Responsibility: comprehensive figures and potential solutions in an AI-driven world
This event aims to go beyond general discourse and focus on specific data relating to Switzerland. To this end, it will draw on a study conducted by the impact start-up Resilio, in partnership with ISIT-CH, the EPFL's Enterprise 4 Society Center, the University of Lausanne, and around 20 other organizations.
Speakers will present, among other things, an analysis of the carbon and material footprint of digital infrastructure, as well as the amplifying effect of uses related to artificial intelligence; practical inspiration for considering the trade-offs between automation, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility in a world increasingly driven by data and AI.
