A questionnaire to assess your company's position on digital transformation

As part of two Master's projects carried out at the HES-SO and directed by Professor Jean-Pierre Rey, students are looking at the situation of Swiss SMEs and organizations in the face of the changes brought about by the digital transformation of society.

In your organization, how do you identify the impact of new technologies on your company's present and future? Is the integration of new management methods, often linked to digitalization (agile, Opale companies, liberated companies, etc.), a topical issue in your development strategy?

According to a 2016 survey of around 300 Swiss SMEs conducted jointly by PwC Switzerland, Google Switzerland GmbH, and digitalswitzerland, 76% of the companies surveyed believe that digital technologies will have a radical impact on their market situation in the next 5 years.

This Master's work is planned in two stages:

• A self-diagnosis questionnaire which, for each question, will enable you to situate your company in relation to the subject concerned. At the end of the day, you'll have identified the practices where you're performing well and those that may need particular attention; you'll also be able to imagine ways of modernizing your company, to ensure its competitiveness in the years to come. • The main aim of these two Master's projects is to design an online platform that will enable SMEs/organizations like yours to benefit directly from tools and methods that will enable you to put in place measures for progress, depending on your company's situation. The project's initiators are keen to explore in greater depth the various forms of support available (links to training/teaching/lectures/conferences, to specialist companies, to specific communities, to certifications, and other possible forms). In this context, the answers you provide via this questionnaire will be invaluable in the creation of this future platform.

 

A long-term, sustainable approach

The project leaders are planning to follow up this work with research funding from the HES-SO research institutes. These two Master's projects have enabled them to lay the foundations for making the approach sustainable in the long term.
