eGovEval: The self-assessment tool for Swiss municipalities' level of digital maturity
In a complex digital environment, the eGov Innovation Center unveils a new tool enabling all Swiss municipalities to assess their digital maturity, identify gaps, obtain recommendations and prioritize concrete actions to be implemented. Piloted by the eGov Innovation Center and developed jointly by the HES-SO Valais-Wallis and the Swiss software company AdNovum, the tool is based on proven scientific methods. It is at the service of Swiss municipalities, respects data protection and does not collect any information.
eGovEval is a self-assessment tool in the form of a questionnaire enabling all Swiss municipalities to evaluate their level of digital maturity. In just twenty minutes, you can make an exhaustive, detailed assessment of your local authority's digital situation, and obtain a personalized summary with recommendations. This enables local authorities to identify their shortcomings and prioritize concrete actions to be taken.
Rapid assessment and pragmatic recommendations
This measure enables us to quickly take stock of the digital maturity of local government. This enables gaps to be identified and actions on the ground to be prioritized. The approach can be applied throughout the transformation process.
Based on scientific and proven methods, both in the choice of questions and in the recommendations, the tool aims to serve administrations in a pragmatic way. What's more, the tool respects data protection. No data is collected, no analysis is performed, and the entire process is anonymous.
Tested in fifteen communes in French-speaking Switzerland, the tool has already met with a very positive response.
Who is it for?
The tool is designed primarily for operational managers and municipal executives. It can also be used by anyone wishing to learn more about digital challenges.
Successful collaboration for the public service
eGovEval is the fruit of collaboration between the HES-SO Valais-Wallis, through its Institute of Business Informatics based at the Swiss Digital Center in Sierre, and AdNovum, under the coordination of the eGov Innovation Center.
Thanks to its research activities and knowledge of e-government, the University of Applied Sciences was able to provide the evaluation guide and carry out the various tests. AdNovum, a Swiss expert in software development, provided the technical solution.
