Creation of the Swiss Digital Center

A center dedicated to digital transformation in Sierre

TheState of Valais, the City of Sierre, The Ark Foundation, Techno-pôle Sierre SA and the HES-SO Valais-Wallis have joined forces to create the Swiss Digital Center (SDC) by signing a partnership agreement. The center will be an interdisciplinary skills hub bringing together the fields of education, research and business to meet the challenges of digital and digital transformation. It will be located on the Techno-pôle site in Sierre.

The partners agree on the common intention of consolidating skills and carrying out projects in strategic areas for the Valais, for the benefit of companies, public authorities and citizens. The areas identified as strategic are industry 4.0, tourism, energy, resource and land management, health, sport and performance, and training.

Staying competitive at home and abroad

The main aim of this skills ecosystem is to support local businesses and create an environment conducive to the development of new technologies and ongoing training to support the economy in its digital transition. The State of Valais is thus committed to creating the necessary conditions to enable its economy to remain competitive both nationally and internationally.

Making the most of the potential offered by digitalization will help to retain brainpower through the quality and diversity of the jobs created, as well as attracting talent and companies. Valais will thus position itself nationally and internationally as a recognized player in digital training, development and services.
