Call for OPI Projects: Feasibility Studies 2026

by Alp ICT

The Office for the Promotion of Industry and Technology (OPI) is launching a call for proposals focused on feasibility studies and aimed at fostering collaboration between Geneva-based SMEs and local universities. This initiative is designed for companies seeking to explore the potential of a technological or user-oriented innovation through an initial structured and funded phase.

A springboard for technological and digital innovation projects

The OPI’s call for proposals focuses on funding feasibility studies, which are intended as a preliminary step toward larger-scale innovation projects. The program supports concrete collaborations between companies and researchers, with funding of up to CHF 15,000 per project, covering exploratory work, initial prototypes, or technical analyses. Projects must demonstrate a clear innovative dimension, whether technological (digital, engineering, data, industrial processes) or related to new uses, models, or services.

For SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland, this program offers a concrete opportunity to test an innovative idea with minimal risk, while benefiting from local academic expertise. It enables companies to structure an initial R&D phase, validate technical or market hypotheses, and lay the groundwork for a more ambitious project that could subsequently qualify for larger grants (Innosuisse, EU, etc.).
