#VersusVirus: 48 hours against Covid-19
Inspired by #WirVsVirus Hackathon (15,000 participants in Germany) and HackCrisis (Poland), #VersusVirus brings Switzerland together to develop new ideas and solutions in the fight against Covid-19.
#VersusVirus is a virtual hackathon taking place across Switzerland from April 3 to 5, under the patronage of the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (DEFR). We invite EVERYONE to participate and contribute to the collective intelligence, whether you're a researcher, an expert in the field, a technology specialist or an impact-minded citizen - together, we'll find new ideas and solutions to treat and combat the corona virus and its impact on our society.
For 48 hours, people from all over Switzerland, with diverse backgrounds, will work together to find solutions to the challenges we are currently facing or will face in the future in the following areas:
- Protecting at-risk groups,
- Prevention of propagation,
- Data against fake news,
- Economic impact,
- Quarantine and mental health,
- Hospital and care,
- Family and children,
- Training,
- Working from home and as part of a team,
- After the crisis, Support and solidarity, Art and culture, Crime reduction, etc.
The wonderful ways to support this initiative are : participate by registering by April 02, propose a challenge until March 31, offer your expertise to teams and become a mentor by April 1, support the Hackathon through your organization, sponsor prizes for winning teams. All the info on the website!
Organizers of #VersusVirus include Impact Hub Switzerland, Panter, Powercoders, Opendata.ch, Gebert Rüf Stiftung, digitalswitzerland, GEN Switzerland, Staatslabor, Swisscom, ETH Entrepreneur Club, forums and many more.
Prior to this, from March 27 to 30, #CodeVsCovid19 will have already taken place, also online. The #VersusVirus hackathon will build on the solutions and prototypes developed at this first event. The two initiatives complement each other thematically; the results will then be summarized, communicated and monitored jointly.
