November 25, 2025 - November 25, 2025
online

Join us on November 25, 2025, from 11:30am to 12:30pm, live streaming on Alp ICT's Youtube channel , in the company of Séverine Cloix & Maxime Savoy, Customer Success Manager & Research Scientist respectively at Criva.

A Swiss AI player at the service of industrial digitalization

Criva is a Swiss company specializing in artificial intelligence software applied to machine vision. Its core business is to provide automated visual inspection tools for manufacturers of high-precision parts in the watchmaking, medical, precision tools, automotive and other sectors.

The solution developed by Criva enables Swiss manufacturing SMEs to modernize their quality control operations, by automating the detection of visual defects on their products. A milestone in terms of digital transformation and tangible gains in terms of, among other things, error reduction, improved traceability, time savings and reduced operational costs:

Up to 100% automation depending on application needs, a 60% reduction in inspection time and a 30% increase in the detection of major defects,

A visual inspection application 4.0: when AI redefines quality control.

Criva's interface is designed to be intuitive and fluid, enabling inspection teams to quickly get to grips with the solution, with easy integration into existing vision systems or PLCs.

Among the key functionalities to be presented, you will discover, among others:

  • unsupervised detection: the application can learn from compliant samples and automatically identify anomalies or defects, without the need to manually annotate each type of defect beforehand.
  • multi-view intelligence: for a given part, Criva can analyze several angles or surfaces in order to spot defects visible from different angles.
  • data monitoring and traceability: the application not only reports anomalies, but also keeps a history of inspection results, pinpoints defect trends and helps identify root causes.

More generally, the application provides a framework for quality control. It provides both a gain in objectivity and repeatability on the most redundant aspects, as well as more time and attention for the operator, enabling him to focus on the more essential and subtle dimensions of the inspection.

Cost reduction, competitiveness and growth: AI, a strategic lever for industrial SMEs

In many precision markets, the slightest imperfection can have far-reaching consequences: customer returns, financial losses or damage to brand image. For SMEs operating in these fields, a solution like Criva represents a strategic asset, as it enables them to guarantee a constant, controlled level of quality.

Beyond the quality aspect, the automation of visual inspection also brings significant economic benefits. By reducing the manpower time devoted to inspection, cutting human error and reducing the volume of rejects or rework, companies can directly improve their productivity and margins.

According to some studies*, the automation of visual inspection systems can generate labor savings of up to 200,000 USD per system, per year, in industrial applications. It has also been found** that, while AI is not yet destined to completely replace humans for certain tasks, it already speeds up inspection rates by around 20x, and makes them 98.8% more reliable (compared with 98% for manual inspection).

For SMEs, which are often more agile than large corporations, the adoption of these technologies is all the more accessible as they can serve as a springboard to other digital applications such as predictive maintenance, real-time production monitoring or advanced data management.

The monthly meeting place for SMEs to identify digital solutions

#TechDemo is the place to be for SMEs looking for digital solutions. Each month, we present a practical, innovative application to help you open up new opportunities, or simply make your day-to-day business easier. These events are free and require registration. They feature a 20-minute practical demonstration of the tool, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.

To explore the dynamic industrial fabric of French-speaking Switzerland...

and the innovative forces emerging from the field, you can also find the #TechTalk series on Alp ICT's Youtube channel, where entrepreneurs share their experiences and their vision of the ecosystem and new digital technologies.
