How can you integrate AI into your SME in a sustainable & responsible way?
The theme proposed by Alp ICT and accompanied by our 3 panelists, Laura Tocmacov, CEO of the ImpactIA foundation, Florian Revaz, Director of ISIT-CH and Paul-Olivier Dehaye, CEO of Hestia.ai, will explore how through the use of artificial intelligence (AI), companies find themselves facing a major challenge: meeting their environmental objectives while using a high-performance, but resource-hungry technology.
At a time when the climate crisis is spiraling out of control, technology is proving to be a solution if used correctly. AI is a case in point. With unrivalled power, it is improving business performance. At the same time, it raises crucial questions:
- What are its environmental and ethical impacts?
- How can we measure and reduce them?
- Is there such a thing as Green AI?
By looking at these points in greater depth, this round table will examine whether AI currently in use in companies can be aligned with the pillars of Responsible Digital: sustainability and ethics, and if so, how.
Environmental & ethical issues of AI: the 3 axes of the round table proposed by Alp ICT.
- The environmental challenges of AI: Is it possible to meet environmental objectives by standardizing the use of AI in business? Are some AIs greener than others? This section will take two approaches. Firstly, an inventory of the environmental impacts of AI, but also the potential environmental progress made thanks to AI. Secondly, the environmental challenges of AI in companies.
- Ethical issues in AI: Are some AIs more ethical than others in business? This 2nd axis will address the ethical issues of AI in companies, such as bias, discrimination and transparency. It will present examples of possible abuses, as well as good ethical practices in companies.
- Sobriety within AI: what if the solution lay in sobriety? Using AI wisely, and not at the drop of a hat? Is this a feasible solution for businesses? What are and will be the regulatory issues surrounding AI? Will the future of AI be marked by forced sobriety due to geopolitical, energy and climate situations?
